later, he is exposed in the worst way while in the swimming pool by the others, just as the ship is attacked and he has no way to explain his side.

cue fighting, and keith gets hurt while kamikazing his way to victory. lance is once again the one closest to proximity, and runs to his aid.

Drenched in quintessence, keith is purple and furry and oh what the fuck. Still, he believes its keith, and aid he is getting.

Keith is in mental peril; he's staring at himself, ripping his fluffy ears, feeling for the sharp teeth and tears are forcing their way as he tries to hold his composure enough to not scream. Then he sees lance, and his eyes shine with terror and panic and relief and shame, and his body retreats while lance's rushes towards, and they meet.

Hunk, pidge and keith hanging out in the kitchen. Keith is talking about how Lance has been weird around him: trying to get him on 1-1 like he's going to confess something, but he always stops and redirects to something stupid.

Hunk and pidge thinks in unison that LANCE IS TRYING TO CONFESS OMG THIS DAY HAS FINALLY COME

And so they tell Keith it's obviously a confession. And keith is flabbergasted, but also happy??

But then he is reminded that he is actually deep down a purple monster, and his joy is cut short. He needs to cut i off w lance so he doesn't get more hurt down the line for being w him.

So when Lance finally had the courage to tell Keith about his marks and newfound heritage, he is met with a wall. A dumb, won't listen wall that would rather not hear anything Lance has to say on the (still unknown to him) matter. End og discussion.

And Lance is dumbfounded and embarrassed. He feels like a fool for even thinking Keith wants to hear from him, much less believe him. He backs down with a dry "ok" before he ends up in the corridor shedding a single tear.
