She is more than just an asshole. Is what she did horrible? YES. Do i think mental illness justifies her actions? NO. A lot of people fail to see the point of jax as a character. I know why she is hated, disliked, and even seen as a bad addition to Tdac, or think the show would be better without them. I simply can't agree, or hate jax.

Jax is a severely damaged individual, struggling with their identity and mental health in secret. When they open up, they panic and shut down after. Even going as far to push the people around them so far away, it kills them. What they did to Ribbit was wrong. Yes, but I've been there too. Not to the same extent, but I've had lows like that where i push everyone away in fear of them not liking whats underneath my mask. This is a part of mental illness that isn't talked about enough, and it's refreshing to see someone in media who has the same struggle. Not diluded to the fact their broken or need to be fixed, but they are genuinely flawed.

Jax would rather be alone and hated than let someone in. They hate themselves so much that they view themselves as unworthy and undeserving of love, identity, empathy, understanding, and, most importantly, their happiness. Jax is what it looks like to struggle with depression, Ptsd, and gender identity all wrapped up into one little fucked up rabbit.

Its nice to see a transgender character who isn't pushed into the mold of cispassing, who genuinely struggles to accept themselves.

Its nice to see a mentally I'll character be genuinely fucked up instead of being an uwu I'm so sad and misunderstood pathetic character that one little hug can fix.
