Well...here's something I've been chipping away at for a little while now ^^
"The Millcreek Ghoul" is my own take on the Jeff the Killer story and is something I've wanted to try for a while now. Whilst it's, admittedly, not a wholly original direction to take the character (aiming for a more realistic take), I hope that you'll at least maybe give my interpretation a chance.
These 2 pieces are meant to serve as a general introduction to the AU and more specifically Jeff himself. I am currently working on the first major entry (ig that's what I'm calling it) which will be from Jane's POV.
Also, there's a character playlist for Jeff (thanks to my sister @dj-basspon3 for doing that, and helping with the layout of these pics.)
(It's more of an "in-universe" playlist or just songs that Jeff would probably listen to)
(plaintext version of the bio is under the cut, if you have issues reading from the image)

Case Overview
A deeply disturbed and troubled young man, Jeffrey Nicholl was always one to keep an eye on. Originally born in New Orleans, Louisiana during the summer of 1990, he - along with his mother Juilie and older sister Jane - later relocated to Millcreek, Utah in the wake of the tumultuous separation of his parents.
For a time, things were going alright for the Nicholl family. Or, at least, they were for Juile and Jane. As for Jeff, his mind was going through an unnerving metamorphosis. His thoughts grew darker, his outlook more misanthropic, his actions more impulsive, and his view on his family steadily became far more resentful. His small group of so-called ‘friends’ certainly didn’t help when it came to Jeff’s darker side. But, it was a chance encounter with the girlfriend of his friend, Randall Keith Evans, that really hastened his descent.
On Halloween night, 2008, Jeff was set ablaze by an angry, jealous Evans alongside his two other friends David Thomas Hewitt and Christian Michael Hawkins after being tricked into spending that night with them. After that, Jeff’s psyche was beyond the point of no return. The Jeffrey Allen Nicholl that most people knew was effectively dead, with what stood in his stead being the culmination of his distilled rage.
It would be just over a month until Jeff got out of hospital. Countless hours spent being pumped full of medication and trying to reconstruct his face into something more recognisably him, and the only thing that time managed to do was to allow Jeff’s darkest thoughts to free themselves from the furthest recesses of his mind. All of this would lead to the night of December 19th.
By this point, Jeff had been able to regain his mobility. He rose from his bed and, naturally, he was curious as to how he now looked. He wandered towards the nearest mirror and carefully began to remove the gauze that covered his face. As the wraps fell to the floor and he got his glimpse of his warped flesh, Jeff remained deathly silent. He wasn’t exactly sure what to make of his new appearance. He just stood there for a while, staring back into the mirror.
In a flash, Jeff’s balled fist furiously connected with the mirror - the thick glass shattering with some of it falling to the floor while what little still desperately clinging to the frame was fractured. Jeff’s gaze then slipped downwards. His eyes became fixated on a particularly jagged shard. Silently dwelling for a moment, Jeff started to notice his quickening breaths had become strained and laboured. Perhaps in a bit of a delirious state, Jeff crouched and took hold of the shard, quickly standing back up as his bandaged fingers wrapped around the glass. Locking eyes with his reflection once more, Jeff then began to crudely carve into his cheeks - giving himself a grotesque, crooked smile. At last, he could feel himself being able to breathe normally again.
This moment of relief would only be brief, however. One of the nurses that regularly attended to Jeff had been alerted by the sounds of the shattered mirror and hurried over just in time to see her patient’s morbid spin on reconstructive surgery. A shrill shriek alerted Jeff to her presence. He turned to face her and, as he locked eyes with her, she tried desperately to reason with him. Her efforts would be for nought, and would cost the nurse her life.
Jeff fled into the night and into the nearby wilderness. Five more bodies later, including that of his own mother, and Jeff would transcend into local legend. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and months into several long, agonising years. Even now, the Millcreek Ghoul still hasn’t been caught; and the loved ones of his victims are still left picking up the pieces.

flanagan isn’t the first but the deep urge to softening margaret and vindicate her is both misogyny and abuse apologia; people can not only not fathom the abusive mother as real, pretending margaret is an extreme caricature and saying she had a point in beating her child, saying her period was a divine punishment and locking her in a closet for hours until she pissed herself. theres a benevolent misogyny is assuming women are naturally maternal, thats they are wired that way especially in relation to their girl children. margaret doesn’t want to ‘protect’ carrie, not genuinely, its control and she treats jesus as a weapon against carrie. the more we keep trying to pinpoint margaret’s religious mania to actual reason, the more we expose how little we care about abused children.
what causes carrie to snap is the idea of her having to go back to her mother, to have to stay in that house for another second but she still wants her mother to love her because that’s what children want, to be loved. that doesn’t mean margaret genuinely cared for her, she loved carrie as an object to abuse not as child to love. denying your child knowledge of their body is abuse, calling your child a whore is abuse, isolating them from people is abuse, self harming in front of your child to control her is abuse. margaret deliberately keep her daughter naive so she could only rely on her. king writes an abused child’s relationship with their abusive parent with such sympathy for the child, it’s weird seeing adaptations fall into ‘the abusive parent had a point.’

We're at the "JK Rowling is personally funding litigation to try and destroy AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL" stage of rabid UK terf brain.
Screenshot via Alejandra Caraballo @esqueer.net on bluesky
Tldr Amnesty International, global human rights organisation, published a report called 'A growing threat: the anti-rights movement in the UK'. In it is detailed, amongst others, a whole bunch of transphobic groups and organisations, including Beira's Place, JK Rowling's trans exclusionary sexual violence support service. JK Rowling threw a shit fit and got Amnesty to take the report down by threatening libel. This was obviously not enough, because you can't appease a fascist, so now she's going to bankroll a bunch of lawsuits anyway through the JK Rowling Women's Fund.*
You can read an archived version of the report here, please save it and share it.
*Not so friendly reminder there is no way to engage in the wizard books without enabling this shit.
I was legit thinking about fancasting the creeps the other day, and I was mostly focused on Tobes (funny seeing how I'm not exactly the biggest Toby fan ^^;)
Ngl, I kinda thought Rohan Campbell would make a pretty good Toby, maaaybe a decent Jeff too, not 100% sure, but there's some shots in Halloween Ends specifically that make me think that it could work.
Definitely does well playing a killer with some serious emotional and psychological baggage imo

nobody talks about how exhausting it is to live in that space between "things will get better" and "i can't handle this anymore." it's like your emotions are constantly swinging. leaving you both hopeful and defeated in the same day.
