Genuinely disappointed they’re rewriting CatCo’s history and making it a hard hitting news source that’s suddenly becoming clickbait because like - talk about wasted potential. We could have had it be that CatCo is what it’s always been - a gossip tabloid - and that somehow, despite that, it broke the biggest scandal in modern political history and earned a newbie journalist a Pulitzer. What’s up with that! This could have been a season of kara trying to go back to filler stories and not enjoying it anymore, or her getting job offers from other companies and wondering if maybe her calling is something greater. It could have been so much fun to watch that growth, but instead we’re just gonna rewrite the past so we can do the plot the writers want for this season. It’s a bummer

Except CatCo was never a gossip tabloid. CatCo is a media company that owns dozens of outlets. Everything from TV, to newspapers, to radio stations. The Tribune, the paper Cat was going to downsize in episode one, is a direct competitor to the daily planet. Cat has a Pulitzer. CatCo was never presented as just a gossip rag.

I mean, maybe. But also I’m not talking about CatCo worldwide media - I’m talking CatCo the magazine, that talks about fashion and celebrities. The one Kara writes for. The one she got fired from when she went too deep into an alien rights story, that “isn’t known for its hard hitting journalism”. I think portraying CatCo magazine (not the tribune, a separate entity) as hardhitting turned trash is dishonest. And maybe they are trying to talk about the evolution of journalism in a digital world, but I still find that to be a wasted plot. I think there are more interesting plots that could have been explored, which is why I made a post saying I was bummed about it.

lena has some sort of glass dry erase board that says lena | kara and is a win tally and she has wins and kara has none, but it isn’t because lena is like, trouncing the shit out of her so much as kara is just simply not good at tetris99. also she’s just…you know, casually playing it like a normal…person. honestly it’s not like her switch can even like, recognize her superspeed. it probably makes it worse just like when you type and your computer can’t recognize your inputs

like, kara secretly checks on lena because of course she does, and she is, in general, really baffled by lena’s win tally dry erase board because she’s pretty sure that she hasn’t seen or heard or been in any sort of contact with lena for real for like, weeks now, and is really confused as to what lena has done better than her like, 23 times.

finally kara wins a round of tetris99, purely by luck. Or maybe like, Alex happens to be playing once and wins. And Lena takes it Really Personally, like Supergirl’s Second Betrayal even though at that point the board says like, 322 to 0 (1) and Kara really has no dog in this fight. Like, she’s blissfully eating potstickers across town and Lena is hacking Nintendo’s servers
