Reverse painting on plexi. It was fun doing this painting. I was very confused which design to choose and how would it appear when i reverse it. But I tried my best and its not that bad.

Final pieces ! Best to luck to everyone on their future endeavors and congratulations to my fellow seniors !!! Happy Summer !
This is my reverse plexi glasss painting I kinda went impressionist/ simplistic because it’s suppose to encapsulate quarantine for me between sitting around bored to missing the outside world to frustration these three faces shows all of that. And ofcourse the infamous phrase “Bored in the house and I’m in the house bored” was definitely a staple for quarantine life!

THE FINAL REVEAL!!!!!
I crossed my fingers in the beginning because I was really hoping it looked good when I flipped it.
I think it turned out great! Unfortunately it’s incomplete. After I drew the characters with marker I decided that I wanted to revamp the stay at home part so I’m going to add that later. In total the characters took me about 7 hours to paint. I found out very quickly that painting normally wouldn’t work because the paints weren’t fully opaque. So I put down a base layer and added an extremely thick layer on top of that after it dried. I had a lot of the black paint that we made from the first project left over (although I did add actual black paint into it to make it darker). I wanted to keep the color scheme of the collage but I also wanted to add that red highlight that they main characters have to the other ones as well. I also had to problem solve the shadows because they are very choppy and it was hard for me to get a smooth curved line. Overall this is my favorite method of painting so far and I will definitely be making more art works with it in my free time! I’ll post a pic over a white background to show the end result better.
I didn’t have colored paper so I had to improvised haha but here are a few collage ideas .
This is my discord color collage I think the colors blended well!
Research post
This painting was done by Bridget Riley, and English painter known for her collage art in the UK and France. I found that this piece went well with what we have learned about colors in class. There are definitely a few discord colors in this piece !

Abstract Paper Collage
Above are some compositions of shapes that I have created. I didn’t really know what I was really supposed to be doing so I just let my mind go wild and started to place shapes all around and see if something would be created out of it. Then I realized that I would most likely have to paint this so then I tried something more simple, which were the colorful squares.
These look amazing! I like the third and forth pictures!
Here is my shape collage; when beginning I placed the swatches of my colors close to each other, let them mostly dry and the colors were discord to one another; though, when fully dried most of my colors were discord to one another, and two other colors dried as a darker set of their own discord. Next time I try a painting like this I must try to make sure that the swatches are completely dry before I start painting on my canvas.
Awesome job Mathilda! Your painting looks great and your colors match each other really well in grayscale

Warm and cool color collage
This is the unfinished version of my collage, I still have to do the details so it can all come together
