wattpad is also literally full of ads. if you want an ad-free wattpad experience, you will have to subscribe to wattpad premium. this won’t protect your works from censorship, it will just remove ads for you — so you can read fics without getting interrupted by ads every time you move to the next chapter.

also I guess wattpad premium allows you to download as many works as you want to read offline. whereas if you’re on free plan, you can only download a few works to read offline.

I believe the platform recently updates their rules. nothing changes. you still get ads and censorship. but they just make the rules more strict in regards of smut without any real plot. so basically their new policy just makes things even worse for their own users.

mind you, on ao3, there’s zero censorship. you can post the most filthy porn without plot fic on ao3. you can post the most taboo fic on ao3. ao3 was created specifically to host this exact type of fic. and also. no ads. you can download as many fics as you want to read offline. and everything is free.

Ok so roads are important infrastructure. A lot of stuff that's important happens on roads. Now, let's imagine that quadrillionaire Matt Stench has decided that the next big tech innovation is the Wide Car. It's a car that takes up six lanes despite seating only one passenger.

The Wide Car is supposed to be the future, and everyone's going to be driving Wide Cars, even though nobody who makes Wide Cars is turning a profit. Employers are offering Wide Cars as an employee benefit, and getting "nah." Some employers are going as far as demanding their employees drive Wide Cars, and the result is that people take time out of their workdays to get in the mandatory gas usage for their Wide Car before driving home in a regular car.

In spite of the fact that the Wide Car is clearly set to fail, there's an enormous push to expand to twelve-lane roads to accommodate a bunch of Wide Cars that simply will not materialize. This is not an organic response to demand, but a speculative investment that amplifies the existing issues with road development for no good reason.

And the six-lane roads for the Wide Car are almost exclusively added to places that make no damn sense for a six-lane road, like down the sides of mountains and in protected wildlife habitats that may go weeks without seeing anyone but a park ranger, and when a huge amount of people protest the media wrings its hands but acts like the problem is the people, not the Wide Car.

And THEN if you complain, people with Wide Cars say you're "being unreasonable" and "ignoring the future" even as reports come in that Wide Cars will cheerfully crash themselves for no damn reason.
