notes: really short fic for @naturallesbain and yeah it’s mostly dialogue but we manage
Soda rolled over, half of his body now over Dally’s. “Mm... It’s dark in here,” he mumbled, burying his face in the pillow. He was still half-asleep, which was valid for how late it was.
“Yeah, what’d you expect? It’s like two in the morning Soda,” Dally replied. “What’re you doing up anyways? Bad dream or something?” Soda’s dreams were never awful, but if he could get real shaken up by them.
Sodapop rolled onto his back again, distancing himself from Dallas by a bit. “Guess so. I don’t really remember it. It wasn’t that bad though,” Soda gave a little smile to show he was alright. “How long have you been up?” Soda asked, sitting up and leaning against the headboard.
“I don’t know. Like thirty minutes? Somethin’ like that,” he responded, sitting up himself. “You oughta get back to bed, don’t you got places to be in the morning?”
“Yeah but not until ten, I’ll be fine for a bit,” Soda said with a shrug. “Are you tired or something?”
Soda glanced at Dally. “I’m not that tired right now. I think I’ll be up for another hour or so but we’ll see,” he said, flattening some wrinkles from his shirt. Soda stood up, reaching across the bed and pulling Dally up with him. “Wanna go for a walk? I’m too bored to stay here.”
“Where do you wanna go?” Dally asked, bringing his hand away from Soda’s and back to his side. He didn’t hate having his hand in his, but it felt almost awkward to be just standing and holding hands without anything else.
Soda stayed quiet for a couple seconds, but he spoke up as he moved towards the door. “I don’t know. You wanna wander with me?” he asked, flashing a smile.
“Yeah, okay,” he answered, giving a smile back. Dally tossed one of Soda’s jackets at him. “It’s gonna be cold, put it on.”
Sliding the jacket on, Soda headed for the door. “What’re you gonna wear? You’ll be cold too,” he asked, raising an eyebrow slightly.
“I got mine,” he answered, pulling his off a chair and putting it on. “Ready?”
Sodapop opened the door and held it open. “Yeah, c’mon,” he said, leaving the house after Dally.
