Employers are not going to get your permission before browsing your socials

Employers, insurance companies, attorneys, etc. hire companies like Social Discovery to comb the internet (using AI and other tools) for any social media content posted by employees, claimants, people charged with violations, etc.

I'm not saying don't post the content you want. You're adults and you have agency.

I'm emphasizing the need to stay anonymous on the internet. However, if your social media ties back to your personal info at all, then you should be careful of what you post about, if you're worried that the kind of content you're posting would jeopardize your employment.

How can you tell?

You can try to search yourself and see if you're able to find your social medias. If you are, I strongly recommend deleting those accounts, and starting from scratch anonymously

Companies will not get your permission to browse your social media, if they can find it. And they are certainly not searching for it using their own social media accounts (blocking them won't protect you, but feel free to do it anyway)

OpenAI scraped the entire web. All of which had been a labor of love from humans. Wikipedia is the backbone of a lot of LLMs, and that was volunteer human labor. They stole it and now they're selling it back to us.
