Ichirou making a deal with Neil to spare his life so long as Neil goes pro and gives him 80% of his earnings can be seen as Ichirou being a businessman first and not letting petty things like revenge waste his investments.
However, another way to look at it is that Ichirou saw a good opportunity to exemplify his power as the new Lord.
The Butcher's son had been on the run for years evading capture and death. This kid besting them would have been an embarrassment to the Butcher and by extension Lord Kengo because his right-hand-man couldn't deal with his own runaway son. Not a good look when you need an intimidating enforcer.
But then Ichirou becomes Lord and the Butcher's son stops running, declines witness protection, and pledges loyalty to Lord Ichirou.
It makes it look like Ichirou did something in 2 weeks that the Butcher and Lord Kengo failed to do for 8+ years; brought the Butcher's son to heel.
So yeah, Neil's pro-salary will be a nice payment, but having the Butcher's son pledge loyalty is an even more valuable show of strength for the new Lord.

OK so. After a lot of frantic googling I realized this was all a dream. home depot did not in fact produce a wildly successful science fiction musical. I was on allergy meds and took a nap and my brain simply prophesized this. slightly disappointed because I wanted to watch it.
