yknow, when my kid was a newborn and i was folding laundry, i'd often struggle to distinguish between her shirts and my underwear because they were roughly the same size/amount of material. and i thought, "well, that's just because she is so very tiny, and because you had to buy bigger underwear while pregnant to accommodate the belly and the hips and all that. surely in a year or so, you won't struggle so much to sort the laundry, and you won't be accidentally putting your underwear in the pile with her shirts, and vice versa."

so tell me why my kid is THREE YEARS OLD and i STILL can't tell the difference at first glance.

#sierra speaks #so part of the problem here is i dont really LOOK when im doing a quick sort of the laundry #i take it out of the dryer and toss it into piles depending on which drawer its designated for #i do not like #pick up a shirt and hold it up to examine it #i just dona cursory look as im grabbing it #and make a judgment based on size and color and whatever #so like a pair of her little floral patterned leggings #i can tell immediately goes in the 'nel pants' pile #but anything small and black #or a solid pink or white or something #my brain is like #thats my underwear #and then i go to put the 'my underwear' pile in my drawer #and im like #ah nope #that is nel's pink shirt lol #if you know us irl do not come on here saying that its because shes still so tiny #i know this. i knowwww.#but its still annoying

wild that i didn't even realize anything was wrong with this stupid app

I remember opening it. my dashboard not loading. thinking my connection was bad. opening my blog instead.

and then ??? idk I think my kid asked for more dinner, or I realized I needed to wash dishes, or I got distracted some way or another by life. no clue if my blog even loaded or not.

if this was 15 years ago I would have been obsessively refreshing, trying to get something to open, going to skype to ask my friends if they couldn't get tumblr to load, commiserating with them. wondering wtf I was gonna do until My Website started working again.

instead I cleaned up the kitchen, built some sick as hell magnatile towers with my kid, and started a puzzle.

opened up tumblr just now and im like. ah. yes. that would explain the 30 seconds of being unable to open this app several hours ago, and then completely forgetting about that in favour of reality. ew.
