Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! May everyone enjoy some coziness this winter.

Introducing some of the next elements I'm planning for CritterNest! Now, instead of going right to the Home passage and having everything unlocked (a bit overwhelming), you go through a little onboarding process to fill out your name, pronouns, and birthday. Then you're assigned the rank of Newbie Nester: completing certain activities will give you experience points. Ranks will gradually introduce new locations, creatures, etc., for a more immersive introduction to CritterNest. Let me know your thoughts and ideas, and of course, please reach out if you're interested in testing an Alpha build.

These past several days have been spent working on a lot of the art for CritterNest. However, I did implement the following features:

🎀Female and Male variants - while not all the sprites are complete, the code to display male and female versions of creatures has been implemented! 🎀Reworking of colors - creatures now share three global colors (black, white, and brown), have their own unique species colors, and now each species has two exotic colors, only obtained by mutations in breeding 🎀Overhaul of the following creatures completed: Caevira, Urcanis, Capranis, Chiroden, and Zerdasus (about halfway there!)

Fishing Overhaul cont.

🎣Added and began testing for tension fishing mini-game (probably still needs some balancing tweaks for certain fish behaviors) 🎣Still working on UI design for fishing

Cooking Overhaul: Beginning Stages

🥘Added a craft-any-3-ingredient system to discover recipes (replacing the old click a recipe to cook it when you have the ingredients. Much more interactive now) 🥘Discovered recipes are added to a Cookbook (in progress, not pictured)

Farming: Because It Made Sense

📌Added Mutations

When two creatures are bred, there's a chance for mutations to override the parents' genetics! A color mutation, for example, means the baby could have a coloring completely different from their parents. Makes fulfilling requests a little more interesting, I think, like trying to get the right color, pattern, etc.

Care System Updates

📌 Added a menu to manage the care of creatures.

📌 Introduced debuffs for low hunger, care, and affection stats.

📌 Implemented a starvation mechanic: creatures will receive a warning, but if it's ignored, they will die. This also reduces the affection of all other creatures.

📌 Added a Run Away mechanic: if creatures are neglected, they may run away and not return. However, there's also a chance they might come back after running away.

📌 Introduced "Feed All" and "Care All" buttons in their respective menus.

Other Updates

📌 Added more achievements.

Updates I Forgot to Mention Before

📌 Introduced a Request Board! Requests will become more difficult as players complete requests in each stage. Currently, the only reward is money, but I plan to add items and creatures to enhance the experience, especially since selling creatures is already an option.
