I decided to photobash some fanart of Carrie to look how she was described in the original novel (my fav by Stephen King). I really wish there was an adaptation that didn't cast a conventionally attractive girl to play her when her "ugly" appearance is a huge part of her character in the book.

Reading The Stand by Stephen King and remembering the deep fascination I have with plague stories. I’m grateful for the fact that King writes everything in such meticulous detail and doesn’t skip over the outbreak to get to the post-apocalypse. I always fee frustrated when the premise of a story starts out with “an outbreak kills 99% of humanity” but we just get thrown into the world after the fact. Let me see the breakdown of society! That’s the scary part!
