The design of this Mid Century Modern house was heavily influenced by the Edith Farnsworth House of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Characteristics include a highly symmetrical layout around a sunken center courtyard. Boxlike linearity is maintained with floor to ceiling windows along with vertical and horizontal planes of contrasting materials.

Burg Cochem, Deutschland🇩🇪

Burg Cochem is a historic castle located above the town of Cochem along the Moselle River in Germany. The original castle was built around the 11th century and served as a strategic fortress to control trade along the river.

In 1689, the castle was destroyed during the Nine Years’ War when French troops attacked the region. For many years it remained in ruins.

In 1868, a wealthy Berlin businessman named Louis Fréderic Jacques Ravené bought the ruins and rebuilt the castle in the Neo-Gothic style, giving it the fairy-tale appearance visitors see today.
