The photograph was taken during Churchill's political "wilderness years" of the early 1930s, when he held no senior government office but remained an influential Member of Parliament, writer, and public speaker. It documents a notable episode in his life several years before he became Prime Minister and led Britain during the Second World War. London, England — October 10, 1932.

The beautiful village of Tissington always feels as if it's fallen out of the pages of a storybook. It has winding lanes lined with pretty cottages, all clustered around a Jacobean manor house, plenty of lovely independent shops, a cosy tearoom, a 12th Century church - and a beautifully peaceful village duckpond. At the moment I feel quite envious of the ducks that can splash around in the cool water here
