The nagging feeling to spill her guts to Marnie has returned, stronger than the last time Ava had reached her limit on just how much guilt she could carry about hiding the worst parts of herself from others. Thankfully, the ghosts were a lot easier for her to talk about than the cratering.

Marnie replied to the original question with a cold nonchalance, not even glancing up from her book up until the mention of being followed by a ghost. She raised an eyebrow, studying Ava’s face as the girl continued talking.

A man's body fell gracelessly to the ground. His throat slit to silence him. Then soon enough he was completely silent. No sign of life on his features. The man in question had been on the run after assaulting a woman to evade police capture. In a way, justice had just been served for his victim. Another successful kill for Marnie Thatcher.

After the now deceased criminal passed. A red and yellow box fell out of one of his hands, the top flying open on its own due to the fall. A small, purple and flesh colored toy would roll out of the box and eerily land on its feet. Plastic blue eyes would blink and ears would mechanically move up and down a couple times. It was a Talking Tattletail toy if Marnie was familiar with popular 90's toys. Yet, something was off about the toy.

Amidst her thoughts of how to handle this, she noticed the box that had tumbled over, the little toy's motors obnoxiously loud as it turned to face her. A Talking Tattletail...Marnie remembered begging her parents for one as a kid. Then her mother had claimed something about them being demonic and dismissed the idea entirely. Though looking at it now, it was kinda creepy. Were they supposed to turn like that?

She sighed, reluctantly approaching the thing to pick it up. Better to take it home than just leave it here, right? Poor fella didn't need to be left alone with a body.

"Hey, buddy. Let's get you home, huh? Home and off this dirty forest floor."

"It's pretty self explanatory. A murder clown is a clown that murders people! We used to have a problem with one running around. But he's dead... maybe? I think? I hope! God, I hope so."

"Oh. I wasn't expectin' it to be that simple. Huh."

"There's... A lot. I'm... I'm not sure where to start." The obvious answer was start with the whole haunted thing, but that felt a little obvious. "Maybe, um, maybe you should sit down? I'm- It's pretty... Bad." Hands wring in front of her chest, anxiety building up. "I mean, uh, there's some obvious stuff, but-"

Eesh, no kidding. That was a lot, especially to start with.

Marnie took a minute to process what Ava said before noticing the girl practically bracing for impact. She quickly knelt down to Ava's level.

"Hey, I already kinda figured the not-human part. Trust me when I tell you that ain't surprisin' me in the slightest nor does that bother me."

The killing part...now that was a little different. Marnie would be a hypocrite for saying anything negative regarding that, but the last thing she needed right now was to out herself.
