just watched speed racer (2008) for the first time and... holy shit. man. holy fuckin shit. why didn't anybody tell me about this?? it's a goddamn cinematic masterpiece. it's almost immediately entirely entrancing. it's absolute outlandish absurdity played with complete and utter sincerity. it's so visually intricate in the most intriguing way. absolutely everything about it is so genuinely delightful and compelling, and i found myself so entirely captivated throughout the whole thing. absolutely amazing. genuinely. i am so shocked by how much i enjoyed that film

i love tron so so much. he's got more action scenes than speaking ones and he's a religious crusader and he only knows how to puppy love and he'd never kissed his girlfriend until another man showed them how to do it and he's died for said man multiple times and he's his world's deadliest gladiator champion and he's ambidextrous and he's also not even the main character in either of the movies named after him.

no one will ever do it like him ever again.
