Alright tumblr, I gotta know. Anyone else out there have this weird thing where they can't look away from a countdown unless it's at certain numbers? Like for me, the number has to end with a 5 or it can be a bigger number flanked by two smaller ones (232, for example). I also have to check important things either three times or in sets of three XD. It drives me NUTS, but I'm also kind of fascinated by it. It's not something I've always done, it showed up somewhere around twelve years old during some pretty nasty abuse, but I've never been able to find out if it's related to that because therapy, who the hell can afford that?

Random question for anyone who has played paintball casually; like for a work team building thing or for a friend's birthday or something.
I've played paintball two or three times in my life, and every time, someone randomly starts a discussion on how to modify either the paintball marker (gun) or the ammunition to inflict more pain/damage on whoever's hit by it.
From rigging up a higher pressure gas system to the marker, or freezing the paintballs before a match, every time, I've had someone in our group come up with some ridiculous (borderline criminal) idea for making the game more dangerous.
Now, I doubt anyone who does paintball as a sport would raise this topic, but I've never played it as a sport - its always in a casual amateur group.
Is this a universal experience? Or am I just surrounded by sadists?
As it is, I don't find paintball fun at all - the few times I tried it I got sweaty, dehydrated, scraped to shit on rocks and covered in welts. Even if I hit anyone back it didn't make it fun.

No. I did split a bully's lip open when I was 10, though. Something in me snapped and I turned around and punched him in the face. He ran home crying to his mom, and his mom called my mom to complain that I hurt her precious little baby lol, and my mom was like, well maybe you should raise your son to not bully other kids if you don't want him to be retaliated against. The little shit didn't bother me again after that.

Doesn't matter to me. I almost never ride buses, though. Pretty much only airport shuttles while traveling.

My in-laws are having a July Fourth party on Sunday, and these absolute geniuses decided to not put in any of their window AC units despite it being 95°F out. So everyone is going to be either stuck outdoors in the rain, or stuck indoors in a crowded, sweltering house with no air conditioning during the worst heat wave in years. This level of idiocy is completely normal for them, though. Thankfully my husband and I are only going to stay for maybe 20-30 minutes, but I still want something to help keep me cool while we're there.

Depends on how short you mean by "really short." I could deal with being, say, 5'0" or something like that. I would not want to be as short as someone with diagnosable dwarfism. It just seems like life would be really difficult to navigate and at that point I'd rather be 6 feet tall (but I wouldn't want to be taller than that).

Sometimes I fall asleep around 1-2 am. Sometimes I can't sleep and I lie awake until 9 or 10 the next morning. Could be anything in between, too.

Have you been vaccinated against covid?
I got the covid vaccine about 3-4 times, until early 2023 when I had a rare/serious adverse reaction to it. I woke up 12 hours later with a very high heart rate, which never really went away. I had a massive flare-up about 6 weeks later and was barely able to stand, and had to be taken in an ambulance to the ER. I got put on medication and was diagnosed with hyperadrenergic POTS, and there's more research coming out showing that PCVS (post-covid vaccination syndrome) is a real thing, it just presents as POTS in my case. I rarely talk about the cause of my PCVS/POTS because people seem to assume that anyone who has had to stop getting a vaccine is an anti-vaxxer nutjob. I'm very obviously not an anti-vaxxer, I got like 3 boosters… an anti-vaxxer wouldn't do that. I'm just one of the very unlucky few who had a long-term adverse reaction. I wish people would realize that it's possible to be pro-vaccine while also acknowledging that adverse reactions do sometimes happen.
