I am so grateful that I love running and that I am blessed enough to be physically capable of it. I just moved 3,000+ miles from home and unfortunately, some of my friends and family are experiencing challenges in their lives. My phone has been ringing off the hook the past few days with people needing to vent, wanting advice, or just looking for support. I love being that person to so many people, but having a guaranteed piece of each day where time slows down and it’s just me and my footsteps (and maybe running buddies from time to time) is invaluable to me. Running allows me to constantly challenge, push, and better myself. It takes me to new, beautiful places and lets me see old ones in a new light. It gives me peace, comfort, confidence, strength. I can’t imagine starting 99% of my days any other way.
