Powerman Zofingen: Billed as the hardest multisport endurance event in the world — it did not fail to live up to expectations! Grinding non-stop hill climbs on the first 10k run through a Swiss forest (6.2 miles). Followed by insane climbs on the bike, rewarded with extreme switchbacks screaming down the mountains on winding, blind-turn country roads, open to traffic - and cows & goats! I saw some wicked crashes but I survived the 150k (90 miles)—even rode a bit more… got lost few times 😂🙁😳. Then off to an even more grueling final 30k run (18 miles) on trails, through yet another Swiss forest and then to exposed sunny grassy fields in mid afternoon heat. It was a great time! I’m happy it’s over and happy I got to represent the United States at the World Championship long course Duathlon! Oooof what a day! Up at 4:30am, biked into Manhattan to Central Park to pace the NYRR NYC Marathon 12 mile tune up race (3:35 marathon pace group). Added another 9 miles along Summer Streets to round it out at 12 miles for the day and a wee bit more Citibiking to get back home.
