After rising from hell to possess a human, the human was sent to a mental help facility. After a year, the demon now thinks it is fully human and that itâs previous life in hell were just delusions.
The demon is excited at being released and going back to the society he was unfamiliar with. Everything seems to new to him but the caretakers have already told him that this was the norm and that normal humans behaved as such. After settling down at his place (the humanâs), he decided to find a job and to explore this society that he thought he once forgot. Everything seemed new and exciting. Soon, he found a job and started working. He enjoyed the little mundane things. He was also scammed of some money once, but he took it in stride and took it as a learning experience. He found joy in movies and serials, books and comics, and drinks and food. This enjoyment continued for a year before the excitement started to die down.Â
Soon, he started understanding the nuisance his neighbours created. How the companies were scamming him. Traffic and road rage were common things now. He was forced to take a loan due to medical expenses and then the struggle began. He no longer received aid from the mental help facility. His student loans creeped up on him, utility bills hounded his mailbox, parking tickets and HOA fines burnt him to the ground. Movies were no longer enjoyable, serials became an addiction, books were a luxury and comics were only discussed but never read. Food turned him fat and diabetic and drinks were costly.Â
He toiled on and on, until one day everything became blurry. The car noises died down and the angry faves warped into oblivion. The television sucked him and prevented him from working anymore. He was refused more aid and he found himself sleeping on the bench, as the loans finally overtook him. Beaten by passersby and shunned by the police, he had no more attachments nor relief. He decided to give up and kicked the chair as he lost consciousness.
He awoke to find himself in strange hot place. Skeletons and demons everywhere. Oddly, he was greeted by the demons while the skeletons feared him. All of this felt strangely familiar to him but he thought it was all a delusion. The doctors had told him so.Â
Soon, a greater devil came to him and said, âWelcome back, boy. However the time you spent up there was too less. Youâll have to go back and possess another body. We are counting on you.â And so the greater devil waved his hand. He felt himself leaving this oddly familiar place, but unlike the previous excitement, there was only fear this time. No more. He did not want to go back to that place. His pleas were unheard and so he went back to hell.Â
