To all the Fannibals rewatching Hannibal on Netflix, remember to watch the episodes ALL THE WAY THROUGH even if you’re doing 24/7 rewatches.
Hannibal and Hemlock Grove got extend streaming deals through Gaumont and Filmrise in 2022 and Netflix seemed to have just joined that deal. Maybe the MaDancy reunion tour convinced them some.
But here’s the thing with Netflix. Netflix determines what shows stays, gets renewed, or gains the interest of the higher ups and executives by how many people complete an episode/season/series. Their algorithm is more or less handled by AI so if the show isn’t “completed” by viewers, they don’t even bother. That’s how KAOS never got a second season and same for Deadboy Detectives. Doesn’t matter how much it’s loved. It matters how much it can SELL.
I’m not one to do wishful thinking for Hannibal renewing, but if this is the opportunity for it, it’s all we got left now. Shudder, Amazon, and Apple, have all but abandoned it.
Netflix finally gained interest in it again after 6 years. Worth a shot, no?
