This is true of any url! You can delete everything agher the ? when you share a url and it will delete all the tracking bits.

would like to add that the stuff after ? isn't always a tracking token, sometimes it contains important info for the link to actually work (e.g. it could contain the video ID). however, try opening a link without the ? string; if it works then there's no harm in getting rid of it 🦭👌

I'm probably gonna get yelled at for saying this but sometimes something isn't a real problem in fandom, you just learned a Japanese word describing a general fandom practice and got scared and decided it meant "The Bad Ones" of that practice

OP is correct and smart for saying this. this is related to/a subset of how people are about non-fandom foreign words, too, like how people say "Christians worship God (good), Muslims worship Allah (bad and scary)" when gues swh. gu. guess what. gues s w hat Allah mea. guess what the word "Allah" means--!!

well okay i don't know who needs to hear this today but i keep seeing it far too much. you have to stop putting all of your personal information on your carrd or your about page or whatever you use. yeah it's a good idea to have one and share basic stuff about yourself and your interests, but putting a comprehensive list of your entire medical history and pairing it with everything that triggers you and how you can be triggered by those things is just blatantly unsafe. really young people keep doing this too, like i see 14, 15, 16 year olds with entire pages just listing all the issues they have. with all the kindness i can put behind this, stop doing that. no one needs to know this much about you except people you have complete trust in. while it is up to you to decide who those people are, it definitely isn't the entire internet

I saw a post that was like “now that gooseworx was banned from tumblr I never wanna hear about “transandrophobia” from you bitches ever again” and I completely agree that tumblr is hugely transmisogynistic towards its transfem userbase and it is genuinely abhorrant that trans women are being targeted like this but hey quick question because I know you’re referring to trans men and mascs here: why’d you call us bitches?

Also, even though it’s likely that gooseworx was terminated due to tumblr’s transmisogynistic biases and that is something worth speaking about, I appreciate people in the notes talking about how poc (especially Black people) who have rightfully called out the racism in her works and fandom are now going to get hit with even more accusations of transmisogyny as a way to silence them and that is not okay.
