I love the hcs where like. Qui-gon was sincerely trying. He *did* try to do right but he’s a flawed person with flawed reasons for things. And like. Best intentions doesn’t excuse him from some bullying.

And also I love Daro dad moments of any sort lol

I see a lot of stories lean really far one way or another (Which I tend to eat up either way, I love every interpretation), but I don't see many that attempt to ride that middle line, so I wanted to try it out. He screwed up. He also did what he thought was right. Also, I really, really like having someone to pick on when writing these aggressively affectionate morons.

Oh boy do I.

There is a lot so I will just toss in a few here. The majority of my personal headcanons go to my beautiful wife, Wyhter btw, which is my outlet so I'm not spamming my notes with them.

An interesting one I had was the concept of Daro's life in an alternate timeline. His father is a fairly important man, as you've seen, and I wrote a section in my notes that I later deleted about his involvement in the senate. In the original story, Daro takes his father's deal and is raised to be another pocket to fill in the senate, though with his hidden abilities and helpful personality, he'd be less corrupt than most. If that wasn't the route, he'd've died in the pits.

That kinda drags me to the timeline itself. I'm clearly flying by the seat of my pants here, as seen with switching MeliDaan and Bandomeer, but overall after that I have tried to remain somewhat consistent. The big moment of change in the story is Jaster reaching Bandomeer first. He saves the slaves, expresses his culture to a young impressionable mind, and that young impressionable mind has access to a world beyond the Senate's chokehold. That is the framework at least.

Another would be just my viewpoint of phrasing I've thrown in there. Stuff like war dogs, senate hounds, pack of Jedi, etc. None of it is very serious but I do like the comparison to leashed animals vs a wild pack of coyotes. Jedi vs Mandos. One goes barking up the wrong tree and BAM dog politics. I find it funny.

Quinlan is a whole category of his own, regarding his powers. Can't describe how many times I've rewritten the next two chapters I'm tryna post just because this sucker's lore and personality is so complex. He, Bant, Jaster, and Obi are such problem children to my writing. Daro and Homkii forever remain the favorite bc of that.
