Did the Death star use beskar as well as kyber?
Can anyone else remember reading fic or meta where the reason the mandalorians were taken out of the picture was a reflection of the genocide of the jedi?
I can't remember where I first encountered the idea that it took both the structural strength of beskar and the power of kyber to build that actual colossal death laser. And of course it was part of the sith plan that it involved desecration of the sacred from both cultures to make it a psychic as well as physical weapon.
Ring any bells with anyone else?

Are Maul's legs beskar? I know in Clone Wars Deathwatch aka Mandalorians give him new legs but I didn't think they'd use precious metals like beskar to do it but his leg took that lightsaber hit like it was nothing

Among traditional Mandalorians, taking armor from a dead enemy is (most commonly):
The honorable way to earn armor if you cannot inherit yet
Not honorable, per se, but accepted as a normal risk of 1v1 battle
Not dishonorable, per se, but kind of a dick move, like pickpocketing a corpse
You can take the armor, but you have to melt it down and reforge it fresh*
Heavily frowned upon but not outright illegal
Illegal but not anathema
So taboo that making it illegal is just codifying an existing norm
Only allowed if you steal from Dar'Manda (who counts as Dar'Manda?)**
I originally had a "Really, REALLY varies by planet/sect" option but I decided that's a cop-out. Pick whichever view you think is the plurality.
* This has to do with the clans; in this option the beskar'gam is the soul, and a family heirloom, but beskar as a metal is just a material like any other. (This one was suggested by @threebea.)
** This is leads to a lot of court battles.
