Phonology - Older Roxutra
For phonology in Older Roxutra, I decided to make it more unique, I would include no voiced fricatives (v, z, etc.) as well as including /θ / and /q/, as they are less used. The rest of the consonant inventory is kept quite simple. As such it ends up looking like this:
In orthography, most consonants remain unchanged but there are 2 exceptions.
Z - /θ/
C - /ʃ/
This is mainly to avoid using Th and Sh, as the letter H isn't present.
As for vowel inventory, it appears as follows:
A - /a/
E - /e/
I - /i/
O - /o/
U - /u/
Y - /ə/
Simple 5 vowel system + schwa. The schwa sound comes into play with stress patterns, as normally it falls on the penultimate vowel. However, if the vowel is a Y, then the stress falls on the vowel before that. For example:
Esatra (language) - stress falls on the first A
Felysi (village) - stress falls on the E
As for phonotactics, these are mostly left undefined par from syllable structure being defined as (C)(C)V(C).
As of right now, I don't have a writing system for Roxutra but I may make one in the future.
I have a writing system now!
Writing goes from top to bottom, lines go from left to right. For example:
Ife, cu kotinem mej esajanein?
Aconem urunija ke yr ester
Elez este, dujunein
(Approximately translates to the first verse of Toxic - Britney Spears)
And here's the word Axra, meaning "fire".
When writing a single word, you can also add horizontal lines where the word starts and ends as a stylistic choice.
And as the -tra suffix denotes a language, -tro denotes a writing system. Thus, this writing system is named Roxutro.
