This was Loki as a kitten in 2005. He used sleep by my head. I remember I gave him some sardines and that was the first time I heard him growl. I had tried to pet him while he was eating. He definitely did not want to share. It's the little things that make me cry right now. Not having him meow at meal times, not having him laying wrapped around my arm in the evening, he would follow me from room to room, he would roll over to tell me he wanted his belly rubbed, he would even greet me at doors. He was my best friend. He kept me grounded and gave me someone to answer to. He loved me even when I felt like no one else did. When I hit my low points he kept me going. Loki, I hope I gave you a happy life. You certainly made mine so much brighter. I miss you.

I lost my best friend Saturday morning. He gave me his whole life, and left a big hole in my heart. I love you, buddy. Rest easy.
