I read that a âillustration of homophobesâ and was so fucking confused until I scrolled back up.
In the Netherlands, abortion is freely available on demand. Yet the Netherlands boasts the lowest abortion rate in the world, about 6 abortions per 1000 women per year, and the complication and death rates for abortion are miniscule. How do they do it? First of all, contraception is widely available and free â itâs covered by the national health insurance plan. Holland also carries out extensive public education on contraception, family planning, and sexuality. An ethic of personal responsibility for oneâs sexual activity is strongly promoted. Of course, some people say that teaching kids about sex and contraception will only encourage them to have lots of sex. But Dutch teenagers tend to have less frequent sex, starting at an older age, than American teenagers, and the Dutch teenage pregnancy rate is 9 times lower than in the U.S.
I endorse evidence-based medicine, and evidence-based activism.

In 2016, Alice DâAmato tore her acl while training vault and had to go to all the way to Austria to get surgery because in Italy they wouldnât operate on her, saying that she was too young to get such an invasive operation.
She had surgery which was successful and started her long road to recovery, while watching her teammates and her own twin sister move forward with new skills and upgrades while she fought to get back her old ones.
Later on, after she had managed to recover quite well, she broke a bone in her ankle which required to put her training on hold yet again.
In 2017, she made the UB final at EYOF. But because her D score wasnât competitive enough, she got pulled out of it in favor of Elisa Iorio (who then won gold and dedicated it to her) who had a higher potential.
If before Euros started I had had to bet on one of the Italians to potentially win a medal, I would be lying if I said my pick would have been Alice DâAmato.
Yet today Alice earned the first senior international medal out of the 2003 Italian girls on bars, with the cleanest routine she could ever do and right when it counted. All of this after earning an amazing fourth place AA yesterday, after a great competition.
Every once in a while, things actually do work out in the end, and I hope she is just getting started đ
Is Nina beatable on bars?
I think so. Sheâs capped out on difficulty at 6.5 - the hardest routine in the world along with Fan Yilin - and I donât see any likely upgrades. Sheâs not going to work out of the Bhardwaj (literally nobody ever has, itâs just too hard to be square when you catch the low bar) and even though I think weâve seen her train a double double, that would only give her .1 if she did it since she wouldnât connect it to the toe full (which she needs as itâs her only pirouette). The extra .1 wouldnât be worth it considering how much harder it is to stick and it would probably be messier than her full-in. Her routine isnât as efficient as Fan Yilinâs, so on a good day I think Fan could beat her.Â
Ilyankovaâs form is nicer than Ninaâs (and probably Fanâs too tbh) and though it hasnât been quite enough to make up the .2 deficit recently, I think if she pulled out a 6.4 routine she could beat Nina. Personally I think at her best the 6.3 should be enough, but I donât always agree with the judges, soâŚ.
And then if weâre talking long-run thereâs always Mustafina, whose Olympic routine would be 6.4 in this codeâŚagain, Mustafina at 6.4 should be more than capable of beating Darwael at 6.5, but, you never know.Â

1: Favorite Gymnast of All Time- McKayla MaroneyÂ
I started really following elite gymnastics right before the 2012 olympics. McKayla wasnât the first elite gymnast I stanned, but I grew to love her throughout the games and she quickly became my favorite gymnast. I was devastated when she fell on vault in London, but was impressed as she grew from the disappointment. I was in not only awe of her powerful gymnastics, clean form, and quick twisting, but also her personality. She lit up the floor when she performed and also was a bright light in interviews and on social media. I loved her honest and hilarious Keeks and Youtube videos. I will always admire her for her dedication and tenacity. Knowing the pain and suffering that she went through during her gymnastics career hurts my heart. I wonder how she is doing these days and want the best for her. I hope that her time out of the spotlight is healing for her and that she finds peace and happiness.Â

Why is Ashton still allowed to compete? Why is she still allowed in the sport at all?
I donât know what happened with her hearing or why her case was thrown out but this summer I was told it wasnât being taken super seriously because it wasnât sexual abuse, and that was the priority over bullyingâŚthough bullying should also be taken seriously in my opinion, especially if the offender is 5+ years older than the people sheâs hurting and if her victims have to see her regularly at meets and camps. Ashton going to qualifiers now alongside some Everest girls who will also be attempting to qualify is going to be super hard on those girls, and there are also two national team-level girls in the US who were treated very poorly by Ashton, Iâve talked to the parents of one of them recently and theyâre very upset that their kid will essentially be forced to work out with a bully if Ashton goes back to campâŚbut they had no idea why the case was thrown out so even those who FILED it are left completely in the dark.Â
Frankly I think itâs odd that Ashton is going to qualifiers rather than just submitting videos to the national team coaches and going directly to camp, especially since her coaches are Simoneâs coaches so youâd think theyâd have some room to be like âwe do what we want and weâre bringing Ashton to camp starting tomorrow, ok?â lol. Usually those who leave the sport for a year or two or five (especially recent Olympic/world team members) donât have to do their comebacks through qualifiersâŚthey just submit videos to the national team and if they look even remotely ready, theyâre invited back (Nastia was going back to camps in 2012 before she had even started training bars). This is speculation, but I feel like itâs interesting that sheâs going the qualifier route and honestly think itâs related to her disciplinary issuesâŚsheâs the first former national team member Iâve seen in over a decade making a comeback through qualifiers so yeah, maybe they didnât ban her from the sport, but perhaps they were like âyou have to actually earn your way back to camp instead of just getting an inviteâ or something? But honestly even just letting her go to qualifiers knowing lots of Everest girls could be there is effed up.
âLove u dad. I can't believe it's real. I don't want to. I'll miss you forever. Rest in peace. You were the most incredible dad. â¤ď¸đšâ

Does anyone know why Aliya is now Aliia and Alexeeva is Alekseeva? Based on social media thatâs not the translation that theyâre using for themselves so I wonder who is deciding it.
