WTF!!! I didn’t know about this I’m so sorry for reblogging cutesy posts about him before.

It’s not fair how grown ass men tear down these teenage girls for not making statements on an extremely difficult and emotional issue to discuss coherently, yet when they do attempt to make a statement, you pick them apart for not being articulate or eloquent enough, insulting their intelligence, their lack of education and their personalities in the process. Madsen obviously had no bad intent behind her post. Putting the onus on teen girls to be the spokespersons for gym is sexist and so wrong.

I said that she cannot write coherently which is obvious and undeniable. Her post - the way the words are arranged - does not make sense. Literally. That’s it! I didn’t say she’s a monster or pick apart her message or intent. The point is just that she literally does not make sense with the words she chooses to string into a sentence.

I also wondered aloud what kind of history she made. She says in the post she made history in 2014, yet as an avid gymnastics follower I can’t think of a single way in which she’s made history. And, evidently, neither can google.

Minutes after she retires the only thing Laney Madden will be remembered for is falling an unprecedented number of times at nationals.

Lol i stumbled across Laney Madsen’s Instagram and she posted about Athlete A. She started out expressing gratitude to the survivors but quickly turned it into an opportunity to say that “although a very intense environment within the ranch, I hold gratitude in being able to make history in this place in 2014 and the opportunities it gave me.” And then added a picture of her and Marta. Girl is just using a tragedy for clout but like she went to camp once and was never invited back lol

How do you feel about Gabby allegedly buying her spot on the Olympic team? It's absurd that so many people have known for so long but no one was willing to say it publicly. That's how powerful USAG is/was.

I don’t think the allegation is that Gabby herself bought it, but rather her mom did on her behalf. And I haven’t seen any convincing evidence one way or the other that Gabby actually knew. But lots of people know way more about this than I do, so I’m not sure. I think we’ve known for a while that Gabby’s mom is overbearing and stage mom-like so these allegations do kind of fit with that.

I’ll always think Gabby was the right choice for the team, and I think her performance in Rio proved that. Whether there was ever a fair fight for her spot, though, is a separate question.
