Hiiii. It's me again. Is there anyway you can do a Shawn Hunter x girlfriend!reader where she is insecure about herself because girls keep flirting with him, (yk how girls are once you get a boyfriend, they're all of a sudden all over him). Anyways, so she like cuts her hair, wears more makeup then what she would wear, changes her style, etc. Shawn soon starts to see it. and she is at her locker during like their break period and he talks to her and reassures her that he only loves her. and only her heart matters. kinda like what topenga does to cory in the fourth season. also, can it be where they are like 16? so like...season 4-5? thank you!! you are amazing

You hated that it bothered you.
You knew Shawn was your boyfriend. He had chosen you. Every day he walked you to class, sat with you at lunch, and looked at you like you were the most important person in the world.
But that didn't stop other girls.
In fact, it almost seemed like the second everyone found out Shawn was taken, girls suddenly became ten times more interested in him.
Everywhere you looked, there was another girl laughing a little too hard at his jokes or finding an excuse to touch his arm. Some of them openly flirted with him right in front of you. Others were more subtle about it.
Either way, it got into your head.
At first, you told yourself it didn't matter.
Then you started wondering if maybe there was a reason they were so confident.
Maybe they were prettier.
Maybe they dressed better.
Maybe they were everything you weren't.
Before long, those thoughts became impossible to ignore.
The first thing you changed was your hair.
You cut it shorter than you normally would. Everyone said it looked nice, but when you looked in the mirror, it didn't feel like you.
You started waking up earlier every morning to put on more than usual. Eyeliner, lipstick, things you never really cared about before.
After that, your clothes changed too.
You found yourself picking outfits you thought other girls would wear instead of clothes you actually liked.
Every day you hoped Shawn would suddenly look at you differently.
Every day you felt more disappointed when he didn't.
Not because he wasn't paying attention.
And somehow that made you feel worse.
A week later, you were standing at your locker during break, pretending to search for a notebook while trying not to think about everything.
The hallway buzzed with students talking and laughing around you.
You barely noticed when someone stepped beside you.
"You know," Shawn said, leaning casually against the locker next to yours, "I've been trying to figure something out."
His brow furrowed slightly.
"What's going on with you?"
You rolled your eyes and returned your attention to your locker.
His voice was gentle, but there was concern behind it.
"You've been acting different for weeks."
Shawn was quiet for a moment.
Then he reached over and gently closed your locker door.
The sudden movement forced you to look at him.
His expression wasn't annoyed.
"You've been wearing makeup every day."
"You bought clothes you'd never normally wear."
The lump in your throat grew.
Shawn tilted his head slightly.
You looked away immediately.
Because the answer sounded ridiculous out loud.
Because admitting it would make it real.
And eventually, the words slipped out.
"Because those girls are prettier than me."
The confession came out barely above a whisper.
For a second, Shawn simply stared.
Then his face softened completely.
"Is that what this is about?"
You hated how quickly tears threatened to form.
"They all flirt with you."
Shawn looked genuinely confused.
"So? Shawn, look at them."
"That's not what I mean."
You crossed your arms defensively.
"They're prettier. They're more confident. They know how to get your attention."
The sadness in your voice made Shawn's heart ache.
Shawn let out a slow breath before gently taking your hands.
You reluctantly looked up.
His eyes never left yours.
"Do you know why I asked you out?"
Your lips twitched slightly.
"It wasn't your makeup either."
"And it definitely wasn't your clothes."
The smallest smile appeared on his face.
"I asked you out because you're kind."
"Because you make me laugh when I'm having a bad day. Because you listen when nobody else does. Because you're the first person I want to talk to when something happens."
Your eyes immediately began filling with tears.
Shawn squeezed your hands.
"None of those girls have what you have."
His answer came without hesitation.
"Because none of those girls are you."
The hallway seemed to disappear around you.
All you could focus on was him.
"You don't have to change yourself for me."
"Honestly? I miss seeing the real you."
That hurt more than anything else.
Not because he was being mean.
Somewhere along the way, you'd started trying so hard to compete with everyone else that you'd forgotten who you actually were.
Shawn reached up and tucked a piece of hair behind your ear.
"I don't care what your hair looks like."
A tear escaped down your cheek.
"I don't care how much makeup you're wearing."
"And I don't care if every girl in this school flirts with me."
A small smile finally broke through.
"Because they're not my girlfriend."
Your laugh came out watery and emotional.
Before you could stop yourself, you wrapped your arms around him.
He immediately hugged you back.
"You really mean that?" you asked quietly.
Shawn rested his chin on top of your head.
"Y/N, if all I cared about was looks, I wouldn't deserve you."
The words settled warmly in your chest.
"You have the best heart of anyone I've ever met."
You squeezed him tighter.
"And that's why I love you."
For the first time in weeks, the doubts began to fade.
Because standing there in the middle of the hallway, wrapped safely in Shawn's arms, you finally realized something important.
The girls flirting with him didn't matter.
What mattered was that at the end of every day, Shawn still chose you.
