If you could trade signets with anyone, who would it be?

Violet: Anyone? I’d swap with Rhiannon. Her signet would make sorting through the books in the Riorson House library go by so much faster. Xaden: You would give up Tairn’s power to be able to… finish your reading list?

Violet: Yes, and I would be happy instead of stressing about burning irreplaceable tomes! Xaden: Fine, then I’ll take yours. I don’t think something subtle would work out in my favor, anyway. Rhiannon: (Rolls eyes) Like you need more power. You glower enough without the thread of spontaneous combustion.  Garrick: I'd take Liam's. I wouldn't mind being the eyes in the sky. Liam: You know, distance walking doesn't seem so bad.

Bodhi: I’d swap with Sawyer, actually. Bending metal with my mind? Gives me an idea to make a wyvern-sized bear trap.

Ridoc: Okay, well I want Xaden’s. Could you imagine the badassery of me and shadows? The world isn’t ready. Sawyer: The world? Are you sure you’re ready? I can see you somehow tripping on shadows within five minutes of the swap. Imogen: I’m not trading. I like mine just fine. But I could use some of Ridoc’s brazen confidence. Ridoc: Yeah, yeah, let’s all make fun of Ridoc.

Violet: ….what?

She entertains herself by throwing knives at targets and picturing the faces of her exes, spends every day training to get stronger, poisons her opponents before fighting them, and pulls off complicated manoeuvres on the back of a dragon.

But she also refused to cut her hair before entering the Riders Quadrant simply because she liked the way it looked, effectiveness be damned. She likes wearing dresses and lying in bed with her boyfriend and reading fantasy books. When she’s captured in Iron Flame, she’s rescued by Xaden and lets him carry her out of the prison. She realised she was down bad for him when he gave her flowers.

She’s smart and brave and often violent, but she’s also compassionate and caring and empathetic. Even after everything Cat did to her, she still wanted to forgive her and become friends. It’s what makes her her.

i bet he was mentally kicking his little booted feet the whole entire time and trying not to blush

like when he first takes her to the mat and she’s fuming but her internal monologue is literally like:

“the golden flecks on his eyes seem to dance”

“the bitter illogical taste of jealousy fills my mouth”

“beautiful. fucking. asshole.”

“my breath catches and my body warms, the traitorous bitch. you are not attracted to toxic men, i remind myself, and yet, here i am, getting all attracted. i have been since the first second i saw him, if i feel like being honest.”

“fire races along my skin at the feel of his fingers lacing with mine. toxic. dangerous. wants to kill you. nope, doesn’t matter. my pulse still skitters like a teenager.”

“i swallow, refusing to think of other things that are a good fit at this angle”

Liam who screams for Deigh as Deigh struggles against the wyvern.

Liam who already grows weak when Deigh falls.

Liam who collapses before reaching Deigh.

Liam, who asks Violet to watch out for Sloane.
