So I decided to read the newest Lucky Luke album (Trouble Brewing) and...
I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE, ACHDE!
(But really, a Winnetou reference in Lucky Luke album is kinda fitting.)
Look at this collection of older editions I got to choose from today! I'm not sure why some are double. The oldest is the Old Surehand in the middle, which was printed in 1949.
Funny to see Abor jumping almost the whole song.
i'm rereading "Old Surehand" rn and it's incredible how Old Wabble can attempt murdering Old Shatterhand 4683478 times, yell at him, call him the worst names etc and OS is like: well i hate violence so i'll let it go, i already don't remember what he did :). BUT when Old Wabble starts insulting Winnetou, OS suddenly understands the appeal of torturing people.

How do I politely explain to people that my favorite pieces of literature are extremely problematic 19th century westerns :|
Winnetou becoming incredibly angry at Hiller for not showing enough respect for Old Shatterhand is everything I didn't know I needed.
[He was interrupted: Winnetou broke a branch off of the nearest bush and hit the still burning logs so hard sparks came flying.
“Uff!” he spoke. “My brother Sharlih is precisely the man he ought to be to Old Shatterhand! Howgh!”
He took the branch and threw it at Hiller's face before turning away.]
