Rosebuddais’ Bush

I wanna do some better sketches for Sam's design and design the kiddos at all(Harriet’s doodle is the concept for the above). But Sam would be the kids' (highly unqualified) magic teacher. He doesn't really specialize in anything, but is super creative when making spells and stopped caring about not doing the forbidden once the apocalypse started lol. Nothing evil or anything. Just like. Bombs, some medical spells, and gamer skills that'd end up being forbidden when made into magic for the AU(e.g. Numbness). Harriet specializes in wind magic and thinks Sam is sketchy as fuck 😭

I didn't depict it here but I like to imagine her with an air canon akin to Quifrey's water sword. It's basically a metal tube with a few sliding pieces to break the numerous spells carved along the inside(so it only works when she wants and isn't constantly blasting air). It's basically a magic gun, pre-apocalypse she mostly used it unloaded(so just air) or with soft projectiles, once the apocalypse starts all bets are off and she's putting rocks in that thing.

And for the kiddos I'll be brief since I have yet to design them, but Sophie - Witch, Joel and rat baby - Outsiders. Sophie is uncursed, but Joel and rat baby's mutations are the same. Sophie thinks Sam is super cool for doing forbidden magic but is super mad he won't teach her those particular spells. Joel is indifferent, he's just super excited about learning to be a witch at all. Rat baby is rat baby, it's just chillin' with papa. Oh and Sophie defo has a wind spell in the sling of her slingshot. Sam has been pelted with many wind powered marbles

Finally, Cinnamon is a brushbug in the AU! Since there haven't been any truly normal animals a guinea pig would've felt very out of place, and it's the perfect excuse to have a brushbug around/be Sam's pet as Vincent would still be screwed in the AU. However design wise as seen I made her fat and a bit young(shorter tail) to vaguely resemble a guinea pig. And ngl I just thought a fat brushbug would be really cute.
