It's always been a bit hard for me to really pin down what Train Conductor represents in regards to Andrew's characterization. The one through line I've found is in Sophia's essence is that the majority of the cast are not who they say they are.

My biggest guess was that it was Andrew's duty being personified, but I'm wondering if it's representing another mask he wears. Could be an Andrew who believes he's shucked his past and has become his 'true' self. Or one who convinced himself the mask he wore in the past is the only face he can show to people now. Many ways to spin their character...
