I don't give you many details in IB because I don't need it but as you might have known already, Zayden was born and raised on the Earth and at the age of 20-35-something he participated in the geological expedition in a specific spot where humans used to disappear but everyone thought they just fell down into cave structure and were washed away by the underground river. But the truth is, portals appear in many places of the Earth. These are short-living unstable portals appearing near specific mineral deposits. Under some circumstances, magic flow swirls and being absorbed by minerals and things get weird. The most well known place of that kind is Bermuda triangle, obviously.

So, this particular portal has torn the Veil and led Zayden to Metamoor. Weira's mother, the previous queen, was very happy about that because the Escanor bloodline was heavily suffering from in-bred marriages. And here there was a fresh blood and a man! But because the old Queen knew her daughter has head in the clouds and obsessed with the legend about the Earth, she insisted on Zayden drinking Leryn potion (memory remover). He still remember some occasional words and phrases but lacks the context. I believe, name "Phobos" was one of these words. Weira used to collect them and probably taken something "beautiful and earthen" for her son.

And despite gaining the immortality after some rituals, Zayden isn't capable of magic. He has become a famous fighter and archer though, you might have noticed Frost mentioning that. This is why Weira used to blame his husband for "rotten Earth semen" that cannot make a heiress and has made a troubled, "broken" child. But she was desperate and that was probably another "Go away - don't leave me" emotional rollercoaster case.

Weira's fate was uneasy from the beginning. All the pressure of being the queen has been her heavy burden long before she gained the crown. She inherited piles of problems her mother wasn't capable to solve and she was rather different - with many idealistic changes and a dream to make Meridian better. She was trying to implement schools and hospitals for common people and liberalize the whole system - in short, Elyon is a lot like her and that will play a huge role in IB.

Zayden is calm, compliant but a little bit inert and undecisive. He lacks the initiative but if he takes the responsibility, he does his best. He's your average normal guy, you know the type: they can tell you the best pork discount and can fix your kitchen faucet.

Weira is his opposite: energetic, passionate, full of life and insane ideas. But she lacks the focus and not good at making these dreams come true. So Zayden always were her peaceful haven, someone she can share her best days and the worst.

Their biggest issue were the kids, as I said above, but they were managing it... well, can't say in the best way but at least they still were capable to get along and loved each other. It was that huge pressure of waiting for the next abortion standing between them. But the first pregnancy wasn't happy either and it took them 15 (!!) years to have the next one. And well, their first child was a boy - a very troubled boy who likes plants over people and his only friend is Ludmoore.

When Elyon was finally born, Weira was already waiting for her portal to the Earth. Metamoor has tired her and her dreams of making it a better place have crumbled. But because mother gives her powers to her heiress (and the next generation doubles this power) upon birth. Weira got in the bad situation where her populist methods of gaining common people love like growing the wheat fields with a finger snap weren't working. But well, she didn't knew that Elias, the artist who was making a picture portal to the Earth and other people she used to trust are traitors who started the rebellion.
