Morrowind’s music was composed by Jeremy Soule, who was actually criticized for the lack of emotional impact the music had on the game. Over ten years later, I think we all disagree with their concerns. The music is ambient, and serves as a backdrop for everything you do in the game. It is so subtle that you honestly will forget it’s there, much like you forget your character has a face, or legs. In other words, the music becomes part of your experience, and it’s only when you stop to remember it that it hits you the hardest.
