“Heartstopper forever” inspired
Farewell to one of my fav series. T-T
And I fell asleep listening to your breathing
and the sound of heavy rain
on hot tin roofs
like typewriters drafting a message home
I'm okay.
I'm safe.
I love you.
And I am never, ever coming back.
- HEAVY RAIN ON HOT TIN ROOFS

to me, fantasy high will always be the best d20 show because of how it's designed. at its core, it's just six friends in a friend group. there's no other relationships, there's no age differences or power dynamics, it's just a six kids who are trying their best to save the world. the bad kids are the characters that reflect the intrepid heroes the most, and it allows them to just be friends, and it creates an energy that really sets fh apart from any of the other series. it's so fun, it's perfectly chaotic, and there aren't any walls with their characters to prevent them from having the best time they can, and it shows. Brennan as a DM works so well with this group and that shows (not that Brennan doesn't with the others, but there's a comfortable energy with specifically the bad kids and within the fantasy high world) AND! there are no limitations in the setting. fh is literally a direct representation of d&d, a game they've fallen in love with over years and years. I literally love fantasy high so much its not funny, and no other d&d show will ever top it for me
It appears that all parties with the exception of Restore are not going to entertain Farage’s media circus.
Count Binface - it is your time. People of Clacton, please do the funniest fucking thing that’s happened in UK politics for a while.

I feel like the thing about the d20 I watched is that the first half of a season (fantasy high, neverafter, unsleeping city, etc) is super rooted in reality, with good representation of real world problems. And then the latter half of the season has fantastical problem solving involved, because we have to get a positive conclusion out of this depressing reality story somehow, and how we do that is by turning to comedy.
(in the finale of fantasy high season 1, hopefully this isn't spoilers, riz eats his dad's murderer and it's a funny scene. it's supposed to be cathartic, but for those who have actually lost their parents to violence, it's too far removed from reality to feel "narratively satisfying".)
(similar context for adaine's abusive father, the unsleeping city protag struggles, etc. we don't really know how to fix the problems in reality so we pivot to comedy and slasher film vengeance, mostly.)
D20 has always done this with their storytelling. Your frustrations with where the story went to resolve itself is valid. Just wanted to say maybe they aren't doing this to exploit small towns.
the thing with both of those though is that there was significantly more storytelling. fantasy high and unsleeping city were significantly longer than ccod. ccod has fourteen episodes with runtimes that very rarely exceed two hours. fantasy high sophomore year was twenty episodes long, the finale lasting five hours. junior year was twenty and three hours! the unsleeping city was longer as well, and even though some eps were shorter (90ish minutes) more was done within that timeframe. yes, wally being santa clause was a silly bit, but it still fit within the confines of the story. cody was a fucking joke but his arc still fit extremely well within the confines of justice and liberation and ricky's path of self acceptance and discovery. my frustration with ccod is not entirely about the bits, it's about the lack of NPC development and the rug-pull "gotcha!" finale.
dimension 20 has a history of blending comedy with seriousness so fucking well and that went out the window this season. instead of using the setting as a tool, it was used as a prop. i've watched enough dimension 20 to know what brennan is capable of as a DM and the players are capable of as comedians, improvisers, and activists. i am disappointed in their actions and choices as PCs, disappointed in the decision-making behind the curtain, and disappointed that there continues to be this viewing of people that don't live in densely populated areas as too stupid to properly organize or self-advocate. we are not children. we are fully autonomous and we don't need anyone's fucking help to form an opinion or take actionable steps.
Polyamory is safe for work. Polyamory is safe for kids. Polyamory is safe for day time tv. Polyamory isn’t more sexual than any other relationship and it can be just as romantic, sweet, and healthy.
Aggressively reblogs.
GET READY FOR A BRAIN CHANGER!! (manifesting a @gamechangershow and D20 crossover)
This idea hit me like a ton of bricks while i was on a brief errand and then i had to come home and immediately draw it.
ALSO THAT GAME CHANGER FINALE. WILD. GOOD LORD.

Being asexual and racist is embarassing as fuck. Being racist at all is obviously embarassing as fuck but the amount of racism and especially antiblackness i have been seeing from asexuals recently is obscene.
One of the only asexual activists is Yasmin Benoit, a Black woman. She has raised so much awareness for the community. She was the first asexual person to lead Pride in London, she started the #thisiswhatasexuallookslike movement and is THE leading voice for the community.
And you all will celebrate international asexuality day on April 6th but we wouldn't even have that if she hadn't cofounded it.
Edit: why are you all too scared to repost this. Cmon. Be vocal about being against racism

better a faggot than a fascist
My hot take/rant about TERFs that I might get flamed for is this.
Every single TERF that is also a self proclaimed gender abolitionist, that says that trans people uphold gender stereotypes/roles, needs to be radically non-binary and androgynous.
What I mean by this is that they both must identify as something exclusively outside of the man/woman binary, and must make their best efforts to be androgynous.
I say this because A) ALL trans people do more to go against gender norms than cis people and B) it is wildly inconsistent and hypocritical to criticise someone for participating in something that they are not willing to stop participating in in its entirety.
Gender abolition has to be pro-trans to be consistent.
The issue of trans women being sent to men's prisons isn't brought up as being a monstrous thing because of the misgendering, it's monstrous because we're sent there to be legally sex trafficked.
That's what V-coding is. That is why they are so adamant about sending trans women to men's prisons, because sex trafficking trans women within the men's prison system is an essential part of that system. Being misgendered by this isn't even an issue that's on our radar!
V-coding in U.S. prisons has exposed transgender people to violence rather than protection. Here’s how the system works and why it fails.
found a specific source
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but the doctor down the street who gives me my T shots in a clinic so small that it's just two rooms was excited for me when she said my voice had dropped yes, India made legal gender change impossible but the receptionist who could see that I was a man didn't bat an eyelash when I asked to see the gynecologist and called me sir when he asked how I wanted to pay yes, India made legal gender change impossible but the barber cuts my hair exactly how I want it and never gave me strange looks for being in a men's salon not even back when I didn't pass as one
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but my friends have always gendered me correctly and stick to it even when it confuses other people and my friend's little sibling calls me older brother in Kannada yes, India made legal gender change impossible but my dog learned my new name quicker than the humans and she runs to give me a kiss when she's told to without being confused about who's being referred to
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but I can feel the Adam's apple growing in my throat and my muscles getting stronger, and my smile more real and I'm growing a beard, and I talk more freely
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but I'm here, and I'm alive, and so are you and there are good people, people who care and don't let them make you forget that-- you are not alone.

Ok folks, I'm in a writing slump, so here's what I'm gonna do:
Every like on this post = 10 words
Every reblog / comment = 25 words
Every ask = 100 words
Please fucking make me write. I will enjoy it and it will be fun, and I'll probably end up writing more than this. But holy shit please make me do it.
