You know every show that the premise is like “people find out ghosts/monsters/demons are real and are charged with stopping them” appeal to me way more now as a post-graduate not because I believe in ghosts more or whatever but because can you IMAGINE just being handed a job that you don’t even need to apply for? Like just being told “basically there’s this bad thing and all you do is make sure it doesn’t do what it wants” that’s just customer service baby and I worked that for 6 goddamn years! Just TRY getting past “I have a job to offer you” before I can jump down your throat agreeing.

the more i think about it, the more i respect the fuck out of blind mag. she really went onstage, sang her heart out about being trapped in her captor's language, said that she would rather be disabled and free than able bodied and trapped, and used her death as a massive middle finger to the man who systematically destroyed her friend's life and used her disability to prop himself up on a pedestal. godspeed, mag, godspeed.

repo really is the movie of all time tbh. it's about nature vs. nurture. It's about family curses (genetics.) It's about how grief changes you. It's about death. It's about parenting. It's about the commodification of the human body. It's about the unchecked greed of the healthcare system. It's about destiny. It's about how the medical system both creates and punishes addicts. It's about a bunch of goths having fun. It's about nothing at all.

Repo! The Genetic Opera was like. An objectively bad movie. But it got so close to perfection. A sci-fi horror movie critiquing how the monetization of healthcare leaves the poor one missed payment away from death? And it’s a rock opera? And everyone is a horny mallgoth?
