Stuttering like this is closer to what happens when somebody’s got a speech impediment that makes it difficult for them to form words. It’s not that it doesn’t happen, it’s just that it happens in different circumstances from what people think! Like OP said, somebody who’s got no speech impediment but is stuttering when they’re nervous is gonna sound more like: “I… I don’t… This can’t… No, I-I don’t have ANY idea what’s happening here.” …rather than: “I-I d-don’t have an-ny id-d-dea what’s h-happening here!”
