Foundation loves to do this thing where it explores the feeling of being devoted to a cause you cannot be a part of. Salvor is devoted to protecting the Foundation, despite not believing in Hari's Plan and not even being a part of it.
Gaal turns away from Synnax but not the religion; she never prays again because she can't but she still believes in the Seer. Subsequently she believes she can't be heard any longer by her god.
Demerezel devotes herself to Luminism. Of all the galactic religions, this is one that she - a robot who does not die and was never born - cannot possibly be a part of. Yet she believes in it wholeheartedly and her struggle with her inherent disconnection from Luminism is a big part of her character.
Do I have a point to this post? No...I'm kind of just writing this to project on the above characters. But I find it an interesting pattern, especially with all the parallels that Foundation makes between Math/Science and Faith. Another addition to the list is the Cleons themselves, considering the whole genetic variations thing, but thats another rant.
Very silly idea: Kayne wants to fuck with the King in Yellow, so while Arthur is in the prison pits he just keeps sneaking him food. Arthur looks healthier in there than when he started. It's driving the King in Yellow mad. He hasn't fed Arthur in months and he's somehow gaining weight? Color's returning to his cheeks. His hair is going from wiry to a more healthy sheen.
