At first glance, this looks like a rather nonsensical photo of two quarters, one that's painted red and one that's painted brown, with a glimpse of my far more extensive coin collection in the background. These quarters are actually super important to me as a person. I got the red one years ago, when I was around twelve, as change from a vending machine. I was immediately enamoured with it - it was just so random, this red quarter among my change that obviously had some story, even if it was just that someone got bored and painted a quarter. I kept it in my pocket for weeks. All of my friends knew about this red quarter because I was so in love with it. The brown one was the second colored coin I ever collected. Candi gave it to me because she'd found it and thought of me, since I'd been carrying around the red one in my pocket. At the time, I was just amused at the second colored quarter, but after that I found a blue one, a black one, another brown one, another red one, a yellow one. I started picking them up - I found them or people gave them to me because they knew about the others. Slowly, it morphed into collecting any coin I found interesting - colored, or damaged, or foreign. I now have a rather large collection of these coins, and it's because of an accident and the love of a dear friend, and it means a lot to me. #coins #coincollecting #collection #quarters #instphoto
