Island In The Sun

Apparently, my charger came out loose when I moved. It's 1am, and I still got two pages of narrative to write.

So I just trolled a bunch of admission counselors right after I woke up from a spontaneous nap. Now I am definitely not getting in. But, here's my emails for your entertainment.

Around this time last year, I learned my first full on Samoan performance (an intro dance, one set for girls only, a sasa, and a taualuga - please excuse any spelling errors). This experience helped me to develop a deeper appreciation and love for the Samoan culture. The amount of effort and time we put into learning the movements, and then practicing synchronization is all worth it when you see people appreciating the culture and island you represent. Oh, and yes, a siva Samoa (Samoan dance) can "make it rain" with fully clothed dancers. Lol! A Palauan friend made that comment when he witness people from the Samoan community out in DC throwing money at us dancing. After seeing that, the other islanders and state side students that saw even joined in and threw money as well.

I'm leaving tomorrow, and I don't know if I'm excited or terrified, because both of those emotions feels the same in my stomach.
