When I said I'm always angry, I was being dramatic

On a murderous rampage my character has cornered yours. What does your character say in 10 words or less to try and save their skin?

bruce kept his head down as the final touches of green left his skin. moments like this were hard to come out of. he felt her fingers against his shoulder and pulled away from her for just a moment. using all his remaining strength, he pressed his fist against the floor, using it to push himself up. he knelt for a second and groaned. 

“No… no one had a tracker on you, the only thing they found a trace of was the quinjet.” She murmured, shaking her head again. “I just… knew. Tony said he hadn’t heard a word from you, so this was my best guess.” Betty managed a smile again though it was slightly tense. “You can keep your pants for now.”

Her eyes closed and she couldn’t help leaning into his touch as he stroked her hair back. Bruce had a point, yes, but Betty maintained that he was wrong. “Stop…” she muttered, putting her hand over his and pressing a kiss to his palm. “Bruce, I know I can’t convince you to come home, but I refuse to let you talk about yourself like that. I refuse to let you push me away. You’re not a monster, you helped save the world, okay? More than once… you saved me too, remember?” Betty knew she was fighting an uphill battle with him like this, but she didn’t care. He was stubborn, but she was even more so.

he smiled as she reassured him about the tracker in his pants. he had been teasing but given tony’s ridiculous habits, he wouldn’t have put it past his friend. he looked at her hand as she pressed hers over it and kissed his palm. he looked back at the cabin. “betty, i’m past pushing you away.” he told her. “i’m not doing that any more.”

he nodded towards the cabin. “you want to come in?” he asked, trying to drop the conversation and stepping up the stairs of the porch, picking up the fishing net that he had discarded to one side. 

My hope is still that they’ll learn from the extreme backlash against Bruce/Natasha - particularly the “it came out of nowhere” argument, as I suspect a similar complaint would be lodged against Steve/Sharon.  She seemed to have been set up to have a real role in Cap 3 (being moved into the CIA); I don’t think she’ll play the same role in Civil War that she did in the comics (I still worry/wonder if they’ll give the shot to Natasha), but I could see her, say, playing a role in helping Steve with Bucky, particularly if he’s incarcerated at any point a la Trial of Captain America.  That could at least set up a connection between them, though I still struggle to see how they’d even find space for a “relationship” as per Chris Evans’ comment.  Of course, none of that solves the creepiness factor.

Unless they continue to just completely deflect her full name and identity entirely like they did in Cap 2.  Awkward, though.  It’d be so much easier to just….not.  Steve’s probably the easiest character to not have a love interest for, given how much is going on in his narrative already – I don’t think *anyone* left Winter Soldier going, “yeah, but you know what that needed was a love interest!”

“What absurdity hath thou allowed to befall thee here?”

“He’s become… Unworthy?”

“We know not what the enemy did to cause this.”

“Yelling does not appear to be helping– Perhaps you should try talking for a change.”

“Does this mean I’ve been coddling you as well?”

“Rise and remember the hero that you are.”

“Giants. I still can’t believe it. Where do things like that even come from?”

“He was being rather unreasonable, don’t you think? I imagine he regrets that now.”

“Yeah, a mask is probably a good idea.”

“How art thou– supposed to steer?”

“This time– let me steer.”

“Wow, quick, say something badass.”

“If it is your wish to die here today, know that my friends and I are more than happy to continue murdering you!”

“This suit was so exquisite– I had the tailors throat slit the moment he finished it.”

“What devilry have you called down upon this world?”

“Promises were made. Promises that have yet to be fulfilled.”

“I said it had been found. I did not say by me.”

“Then you best gird yourself for battle.”

“A thousand magic hammers couldn’t break down that door. And no way in Hell am I about to open it.”

“You may dispatch this one as you see fit.”

“–‘Dispense with.’ That means we can kill her, right?”

“Your children will be better off without you. Come and die, now.”

“Hello! Room for one more in here?”

“An American billionaire and C.E.O.– Which in case you didn’t know is way better than a King.”

“Just so you know, this isn’t the first time I’ve been threatened by a Minotaur.”

“If only I could smash your pride as easily. Shall we try?”

“It’s my island. Perhaps you should all go to Hell!”

“Fight? Did you just say you wanted a fight?”

“Calm thyself down.”

“Open your eyes! You cannot hold onto something you’ve already lost!”

“Do super heroes hug each other?”

“This was not one of my more successful endeavours.”

“This was your plan. You are the one scheming to start a war.”

“I find courtesy is such a lost art these days, don’t you? More’s the pity.”

“Just be certain to inform your new cellmates hat ‘twas a woman who returned you to prison.”

“That’s for saying ‘feminist’ like it’s a four letter word, creep!”

“Hey only I get to break his jaw.”

“Just so you know– I am going to hit you now. Rather hard.”

“My survival and ours depends on me receiving more mead with all haste!”

“My husband is more than capable of speaking for himself. Most days, it is all he does.”

“I applaud your commitment to sadism, Sir.”

“War is a hungry beat and I only wish to keep it well fed.”

“They underestimate the stubbornness of humans when it comes to dying.”

“Um.. I’m pretty sure there are no goats allowed in here.”
