Today is the 81st anniversary of V.E. Day.
V.E. Day was a victory for good against the forces of evil, tyranny, fascism, Nazism, and hatred, not just for the UK and France. World War II veterans were the heroes and I salute the generation who served in World War II. The World War II generations made sacrifices in order to survive and all Holocaust survivors were liberated in 1945. I hail and honor all of the people who served and fought in World War II, including all World War II veterans and I thank all of the people who saved Europe during World War II. I celebrate the 81st anniversary of V.E. Day and V.E. Day was one of the happiest days in history. The very, very few World War II veterans and people who lived through World War II as children, teenagers, or young adults are telling their stories, memories, and experiences of World War II. The Greatest and Silent Generations were courageous, resilient, brave, and heroic and I salute those generations! It is a great thing that V.E. Day even happened and that World War II was over in Europe on May 8, 1945 and that World War II was over in Japan and other countries on September 2, 1945, meaning that World War II officially ended on September 2, 1945.
It was not easy to live through World War II and all of those people had to grow up quickly, even if they were children during World War II. After all, you have to grow up in order to survive wars.
6 million Jews (including 1.5 million Jewish children and 5 million non-Jews died in the Holocaust and 80 million other people, especially soldiers, also died in World War II.
The 81st anniversary of V.E. Day is one of the last celebrations, if not the last celebration that World War II veterans, Holocaust survivors, and other elders will attend as all of those people are dying off quickly. After all, those people are in their 80s, 90s, or 100s and people in their 80s, 90s, and 100s are elderly.
In other words, the remaining members of the Greatest and Silent Generations are all dying off quickly.
We need world peace once and for all!
