Jax is here to give trans people hope in a time of so much hate and fear.

She lived just as afraid and repressed and hostile as so many people do. She physically fought people away because the idea of being discovered and ostracized was so immense. She became an embodiment of all the hate she’d always felt directed at her identity. When Pomni sees her truth she hugs her, thinking back on moments together and simply concluding “isn’t she lovely.”

Jax took her own life because of the fear and self hate and as she faded into abstraction, she realized in the last moments, in one simple tearful line, “I don’t want to go.”

In her real life, she has queer friends, long hair, she frequents the queer bar run by Zooble. She is free. She is lovely. There was always a better way.

Jax died with her secret because she was so ashamed. But we know through Leroy and Pomni and Ribbit that if she had just lived her truth, she would have been loved. Supported. Accepted. Jax realizes the same thing but it’s already too late, she’s already gone. As a trans man who’s been close to “abstracting” in the closet too, my god was it felt.
