at least, weak ones like me do. itās not good for me to be a person. itās not good for girls like me to to believe in feminism. itās not healthy for us to be confused by different sets of standards and realities.
thatās where iāve been steered wrong and the rabbit hole i fell down when i was young and (even more) impressionable. i thought i could be big and strong, take care of myself, make the best decisions and lead my life with confidence. i saw plenty of women doing just that and succeeding, thriving even, and thought it applied to me as well.
some women are strong, capable, intelligent people who deserve respect and equal rights. They have careers and houses and even business and employees, they command the room, they call the shots and are respected and followed by all, they hold their own aside any group of men without anyone thinking twice about it. They sit comfortably in their skin, their value, their intelligence, the rights they deservedly enjoy. They are equal, through and through.
but then some women are intrinsically, innately less. we make a mockery of the efforts of generations before us simply by being so foolish and stupid and easily broken. We are weak and small and unsure, clinging to the legs of those more powerful than us, sheltering behind their strength and intelligence like children. we wander aimlessly through life, under the impression we are of the same caliber as those real women⦠but at every turn, we bump into walls, scrape our knees, fall down the well and get lost in the woods. we are lost and have been told lies all our lives, led astray and set up for failure. Because we do fail at playacting independence and strength.
What we need is to be kept.
iām less. iām not a woman, but I can be a pet, a pig, a cow⦠a dog. Manās best friend slave. i have the self-preservation instincts of a newborn puppy, after all - the attention span and memory of a goldfish, the self-discipline and control of a toddler.
iām the kind that needs to be kept at home, safe and happy, collared and chained, controlled and secure. i need to cook, clean, serve, worship, kneel, surrender.
I canāt be left to my own devices for long. I leave a trail of destruction and bad decisions and poor outcomes and unfinished endeavors, abandoned paths and forgotten goals. I wander too close to the cliff and fall off every time. I need the leash, I need the safety, I need the firm grip behind my neck and around my wrist keeping me in sight and within reach at all times.
I was told my whole life itās weak and shameful and traitorous to need a man, to need to be owned. To want it.
But itās not weak to be made this way. itās not weak to need help. I need control, I need guidance, I need a protector who is stronger and more intelligent than I am, less emotionally charged, who wonāt be dealt a handful of stressors and crumble under the pressure - who can think them through logically and calmly, and work through them without crying or succumbing to the burdens.
For every area that I am weak, I need a man. I am not strong. I am not logical. I am not calm. I am not rational or fair. I need help. I am weak. I need a man. I am not strong. I. Need. A. Man.
