Limoncello baby! 192 oz. Starting part two of the process. In 45 more days I'll give it a taste then bottle it.

I made these.  :-D  Part of my New Year's resolution is to finally learn how to bake breads in many of their incarnations, including loaves, biscuits, pita, pie crusts, and pizza. These are bierocks, Mennonite meat-filled buns.

Last apple pie of the year. I used organic golden delicious for this one, and baked it in the lid of my new (pre-Christmas!) 10" Lodge 5 qt. Dutch oven.

Giant Almond Meal Skillet Chocolate Chunk Cookie.

First homemade beer that will be ready for winter overindulgence. My father in-law found this vintage bottle buried in the yard. Perhaps it is 50 years old. I've used this bottle three times without a problem.

Brew day in the garage. Those are Cascade hops that I grew in my back yard and I'm wet-hopping them all freshy fresh into my personal APA (American Pale Ale).

Cool stuff! I got a Scottish Heavy fermenting an Oatmeal Stout to be ready in June or so.

With those carrots we pulled up yesterday I made a Best ever Carrot Cake – Gluten Free Carrot Cake with cream cheese frosting. Ok, let's get one thing straight: I am not, never have been, and don't plan to ever be vegan or vegetarian, nor do I require a special gluten free diet or anything else special. I just like delicious food. However, this may be the best carrot cake I've ever eaten or made. It doesn't have any flour, white sugar, salt, vanilla, oil, or butter (except in the frosting...) but it is out of this solar system delicious.

Carrot Bounty.  This is half of this year's carrot crop, about 7-pounds. They're Cosmic Purples and Lagunas, the seeds are from Jung. I planted them on April 9th and thought that they would never even sprout let alone provide nourishing produce. I'll dig up the rest next week after I decide what to do with these.

SWEET NEW RIDE!  Homemade Mash/Lauter Tun from an Igloo Cooler. Taken this out for three successful rides already. I made this from a 9-gallon seldom used cooler I've had for a decade or so. The stainless fittings I got from Wayne at BargainFittings.com.
