"Oh, Rose Noble is an interesting idea for a character. I can't wait to see what they do with her" I said, with excitement and hope.

UPDATE it doesn't even have to be 'cool', give me a fact about ur oc!!!!
A psychic bond with another alien that looks like an animal - this serves 3 purposes. 1. Helps the Aqrolt(the animal shaped alien) maintain its shape 2. Helps the humanoid alien maintain its mental shielding and gives it a companion since it's one of the last remaining members of an incredibly long-lived species 3. Scare the ever living fuck out of humans
"nuwho is too sexual" every character in classic who is 000.1 seconds away from fucking sloppy style have you fucking seen Delgado Master and the way he looks at the Third Doctor with some sort of psychotic need to bend him over and take it raw
NYSSA AND TEGAN
THREE AND THE BRIG
FOUR AND THE BRIG
JUST THE BRIG AND THE DOCTOR
To my 25 - 35 year olds, you've reached the age where people around you are starting to give up on themselves because they think it's too late. Don't let that energy rub off on you. It's not too late.
I became a tattoo artist at 49.
Married the love of my life at 50.
Got my Class A CDL at 59.
You've got time.
As long as you're breathing, you've got time.

I've seen a bunch of "fandom etiquette" posts on my dash today and I'm going to say something that is maybe going to be unpopular but;
The absolutely pervasive mentality that unwanted criticism or critique shouldn't be given and should be ignored is why fans of color don't stay in fan spaces.
And I am not going to mince words here:
A lot of you are racist. A lot of your fan works are racist.
That might have been difficult to hear. And if it was, you should probably reflect on why that was.
"Fandom etiquette" has created a space where fans of color either bite our tongues and eventually leave or say something, get dogged on, and then eventually leave.
So much of "fandom etiquette" seems to be about insulating creatives from Feeling Bad and hostility to any kind of negative feedback is a pretty big contributor to why bigotry festers in these spaces.
#imo the potluck analogy applies- it would be rude to critique someone's icing technique at a potluck bc it wasn't as good as at the bakery #but if they had decorated their cupcakes w hate symbols it wouldn't be rude to tell them that's gross and gtfo #in fact it would be inappropriate to NOT say anything in that situation #or to complain that another guest who did point it out was 'ruining everyone's potluck' #and pointing out racism in fan works is 100% the second thing not the first! The most iconic Doctor Who line that I've never once seen used in a fic is 'beans are evil. Bad, bad beans.'
"Travel with me then" asked 11
"Whenever and wherever you want" answered River.
A promise she will keep even after dying, following wherever and whenever the Doctor went.
So what I'm saying is that 11 kinda asked to be followed

Okay I've talked about
"I have toppled worlds. Sometimes, I wait for people to topple THE world. Until then, I live in it, and I shine"
With his big old grin at the end??? Iconic and true of an Eldritch god
GET. AI. OUT. OF. FANDOM. Stop making headcanons with it, stop making fanfic with it, stop making fanart with it. If I see one more "asking chatgpt *blank* about *character/characters in a fandom* I'm going to lose my goddamn mind. Use your own fucking brain, stop asking AI to do everything. You could even ask other real people what they think. Just. Stop. Using. AI. In. Creative. Spaces.
I actually recommend everyone write for a rarepair once because it completely changes your relationship with fandom. Engagement stops being numbers and starts being names. You know who's going to show up. You recognize usernames. Someone disappears for a while and then comes back and you're like “OH MY GOD WELCOME HOME.” It's incredibly wholesome. It is also deeply inconvenient when all six of you simultaneously get writer's block-
Here’s the thing: authors know when they get a rec on an older story. There’s a telltale uptick of kudos (with a 10-15% comment rate if you’re lucky) in your digest email.
The thing is, there’s no way to know where these people are coming from. In the before, when fandom was more in the corners we all knew about, you could search LJ or a message board or whatever social bookmarking site we were using. You could join the community and participate.
You could get a little dopamine hit by seeing someone tell their friends why they loved your story.
Anymore, those recs are hidden in discords, or in tiktoks or instagram slideshows that you can’t search for. They’re inaccessible, not discoverable unless you’re already there. You may never know why 27 people left kudos on an old story of yours, what they liked and found in your writing. You just get the thumbs up and a kinda lonely feeling, cause these could be your people. You could like them, maybe. You could be friends.
But you’ll never find out why they stopped by, or what people are saying about you behind your back, and that’s sad.
So thank you to the people who still do public rec lists on this webbed site. You are my sunshine, and I’m appreciative of all of you.
If you are recced a fic and enjoyed it, leave a comment telling the author where you came from! We like to know!
