But as a demisexual human being myself - this is such a genuinely refreshing POV to read. I find Jean and Jeremy funny sometimes because I don’t understand the way they crush. What swoop in your stomach, why are you hungry??? Allos what happens to you?? Meanwhile Neil has got the right idea. Form a strong emotional attachment built on greater trust than you’ve ever given another living being, ensure that sense of trust is mutual, enjoy deep conversation and fun word games. Oh a kiss has happened? It feels good and you’d both like to try it again? Great this is nice! Not tomorrow though? Fine by me.

Living knowing you are ace until you experience your first - whatever you describe a demisexual crush as because it sure as hell isn’t sexual in the same way I have come to understand “normal” crushes - it looks like Neil. It’s so relatable to read. I was that clueless! I still am! I go years between feeling that way and forget what it feels like and go through learning it all over again! I love that he just…is that way. It’s not a big deal in universe but it’s pervasive in Neil’s entire POV. He doesn’t sexualise Andrew, not really. He passes Allison’s test when they first meet entirely non plussed. Being able to get inside the head of a character who sees with my worldview is…quite something. It’s like I don’t have to put on my ‘remember how the normies function’ glasses so the text is tinted the correct colour. I can see it all without having to guesstimate, because this is how I see too.

Also we never really see him do any really impressive firebending apart from when he has magic comet power, I guesss he shoots some lightning at Zuko, but that’s it and Azula is still better at the lightning thing. Azula has blue flames. Zuko can do firebreakdancing and bend with his swords. Does Ozai, who is not 14 years old, have blue flames? No he doesn’t.

He didn’t even do his coup himself, Ursa had to kill Azulon for him! Could have just challenged Iroh to an Agni Kai for the throne but he didn’t bc he knew he’d lose.

And then he only ruled for like 6 years! He lost a war that had been going on for 100 years bc of a bunch of kids.
