i'm rewatching e malama pono (the one with the bomb in the truck in the jungle. but that's not the part this post is about) and steve and danny keep coming back to the list danny wrote of Things I Like and which steve maybe snooped at or maybe just happened to glance at and then read in detail in a really normal regular kind of way while looking for a pen in danny's office. and then at one point danny asks why steve is so obsessed with this list and keeps bringing it up, and steve, to my delight, says, "i don't have an obsession, i have a mild curiosity" which is already fun because it's just good, ridiculous phrasing in a nonsense argument (and we love that around here), but then the best part comes because he uses this as introduction for, "that you would a) write a list like that in the first place, and b) be so hypersensitive about it", and at this point the eagle-eared (or -eyed, if you have subtitles on. or are currently reading this post) observer might notice !!! that that's a list. steve is now writing a list about why he has an all day all consuming extremely determined mild curiosity about danny's list of Things I Like. so to complete the circle, let me now write a list about why i like steve's list about danny's list: a) it's a list. b) hehehehe they are so weird about each other. <3
