It’s recently been found that even hive insects rest. Bees will play with colorful toys. Ants sleep for about 1 minute but they do it so frequently it amounts to a few hours per day. Even trees take breaks.

robots require very frequent breaks! welding machines generally have it programmed in that they can’t run so long they melt themselves. ive overseen two different manufacturing robots now and each of them were fragile, finicky idiots that require constant maintenance and repair. they pause in between moves, in between jobs. you’re always keeping an eye on programming errors, on coolant levels, on heat. you’re always pulling bits of scrap out of joints, sweeping up debris, washing off nozzles and untangling hoses. and even then it snaps a chain and takes a whole morning’s vacation.

i fear a lot of you who say there is a "masc" shortage only want a cis skinny white girl with short hair and cannot handle the concept of a hairy butch, a butch who takes testosterone, has had top surgery, is a person of colour, has big muscles, uses he/him pronouns, refers to themself as a dyke, or a tranny, or is a trans female butch.

Based off of this post that i reblogged yesterday, I think that as white people within modern butchfemme community we need to urgently reflect on our collaboration and continued support (whether knowingly or unknowingly) with and into white supremacy. It is absolute imperative that we get a handle on the issues and harm that we as white people bring into mixed spaces, specifically because whenever we are present we take up so much space, and oftentimes end up dominating the narrative of whatever conversation or event is taking place.

continue to be flabbergasted by the genre of trans guys who will say “trans men are men!!!” until they’re blue in the face, but when it’s time to talk about male privilege and transmisogyny, suddenly they’re poor little AFABs with glass bones and paper skin.
